Millions Use Bluehost for Domain Names and Website Hosting… Why Not You?

Blue HostWe get asked all the time…

What service provider do you use for Travel Blogger Academy’s domain name registration and website hosting?

So we decided to create post answering your questions.

But first, here’s a little background on domain names and web hosting for newbies…

Domain names are the URL that you type into an internet browser (e.g. travelbloggeracademy.com, google.com, trekity.com, wikipedia.org, etc.).

Web hosting is a service provided by a company which sells space on their servers to store all your website files (webpages, images, videos, etc.) and allows your website display on the Internet.

To start your own website, you need both a domain name and web hosting…

Bluehost

For TravelBloggerAcademy.com, we use Bluehost (affiliate link) for the domain name registration and web hosting.

Here’s why:

  • They are reasonably priced.  We’ve shopped around and found that Bluehost is reasonably priced.  While you can break up the hosting and domain name registration with different providers, we’ve found it’s easier (especially for newbies) to use one provider.
  • They have excellent customer support. We’ve dealt with several different hosting providers and can vouch that Bluehost has THE BEST SUPPORT.  For example, when we started (back in 2008) we created a Yahoo! Small Business account which turned out to be a nightmare.  Not only were they a ripoff, but their customer support was horrible.  One week, our website went down and we called their support four times. For each call, we had to wait an average of one hour before reaching someone who gave us the run around. That’s when we moved to Bluehost. Every time we’ve called Bluehost, they pick up the phone immediately and stay on the line until all our questions are answered and problems solved. They are especially supportive of people who are new to the process.
  • Bluehost has WordPress hosting so you can set up WordPress in a few simple clicks.

We hope this answers your questions.

Please note…

All links to Bluehost in this post are affiliate links - meaning if you click the link and decide to sign up with Bluehost we’ll make a small commission to help us fund Travel Blogger Academy.  We do not endorse any products or services that we don’t personally use.
